NuVasive (Nasdaq: NUVA) reported higher third quarter earnings that surpassed analyst expectations and announced a $100 million stock repurchase program.
Third quarter earnings soared for TRI Pointe Group (NYSE: TPH) to beat estimates.
On the downside
Acadia Healthcare (Nasdaq: ACHC) disappointed with third quarter earnings and revenue that fell short of analyst expectations.
Third quarter earnings missed estimates for Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG).
Advanced Micro Devices (Nasdaq: AMD) warned of lower revenue in the fourth quarter.
In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of 5 to 2 on the NYSE and by 3 to 2 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 slipped 3 points to 2,566. Bitcoin climbed $59 to $5,535.
