Polyphthalamide Market - Global Industry Analysis and Forecast 2014 - 2020

New York, NY -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/14/2015 -- Polyphthalamide (PPA), also known as a high performance polyamide, synthetic resin of nylon is widely used in high temperature electrical connectors, replacing metals in various high temperature automotive applications. Polyphthalamides are basically polyamides which contain aromatic rings in them providing high thermal resistance and mechanical strength. The term PPA is considered when approximately 60% of the carboxylic acid moles of the repeating unit in polymer comprise of a combination of isophthalic (IPA) and terephthalic acids (TPA). Polyphthalamide is usually formed by the reaction of aromatic acids with aliphatic diamines. It is a semi crystalline material which is composed from a diamine and diacid, being a member of the nylon family. Polyphthalamide exhibits high dimensional stability, high tensile strength, corrosion/abrasion resistance, high chemical resistance, high heat resistance, as well as direct bonding to many elastomers for developing plastic rubber composites.
