Shares of Ballard Power Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: BLDP) soared $1.32 to close at $5.40 and FuelCell Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: FCEL) climbed 48 cents to close at $2.91 on word from rival Plug Power Inc. (Nasdaq: PLUG) that it would soon announce a major deal. Plug Power stock leaped $2.79 to close at $8.48.
