The Wall Street Journal reported that Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. (Nasdaq: WBA) was in advanced discussions to acquire Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD). Shares of Walgreens soared $4.42 to $93.90 while Rite Aid stock leaped $2.36 to $8.44.
