Jefferson Financial Credit Union Selects IMM's Web-based Technology

Integrated Media Management® (IMM), a document output management and automation technology provider, announced today that Jefferson Financial Credit Union has expanded its relationship with the company by selecting TotaleAtlasWeb. Based in Harvey, La., the credit union, approximately 15 miles from New Orleans, was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and many of its members suffered major losses. Jefferson Financial will now take advantage of remote signature capture and secure document delivery for future disaster preparedness. Providing Web-based signature capture, TotaleAtlasWeb will also enable Jefferson Financial to better market and attract todays younger generation, which prefers to do financial business via the Internet.

TotaleAtlasWeb captures end-users digital signatures via the Web anywhere, anytime, 24/7 and enables completed documents to be securely delivered back to the credit union for archival as a non-editable document. The solution is an extension of TotaleAtlas, a document preparation engine that electronically captures signatures in-branch and merges the XML data with secure PDF formats that are easily retrievable with IMMs search feature.

IMMs TotaleAtlasWeb will resolve many challenges that we have faced recently while providing numerous unexpected benefits to both our employees and members, said Carie Lopez, vice president of lending at Jefferson Financial Credit Union.

First, our younger members want to do everything electronically, and we are discovering other age groups also appreciate having easy and fast access to their financials, she continued. TotaleAtlasWeb provides an additional and critical channel to serve these members and attract new members. Second, our employees are inundated with paperwork, and TotaleAtlasWeb significantly reduces the amount of paper and time it takes for documents to get back and forth between our staff and members. Lastly, this solution will serve as a disaster preparedness tool, should we ever experience devastation like Hurricane Katrina again. We would only need our laptops and Internet access to do many imperative financial transactions for our members due to IMMs products.

According to credit union executives, many of its employees and members were displaced after Hurricane Katrina. Four weeks after the storm Jefferson Financial was able to reopen all three of its branch offices and operate fully. The credit union quickly experienced an increase in membership by those who were displaced from their homes as well as those who were customers of other financial institutions that were unable to reopen.

A credit union is a family, and that is how we treat our members, said Trina Shano, senior loan officer at Jefferson Financial Credit Union. Our goal is to help our community, especially the under served and those who have experienced hard times since the storm. Members who have been relocated to Texas and Mississippi as a result of the storm are still able to maintain their membership with us thanks to IMMs Web-based solutions. This transition was made easier by the very well rounded IMM employees who answered all of our questions quickly and provided constant support as we adapted to our new service.

When the Gulf Coast was struck by Hurricane Katrina, many credit unions and their members were unable to communicate with one another, much less be able to sign and execute required documents, said Chuck Klein, CEO of Integrated Media Management. One of the easiest methods for credit unions to be in touch with and help their members during and after such a disaster is the Internet. TotaleAtlasWeb links credit unions and their members 24/7 via the Web and can make all the difference during a disaster when traditional lines of communication are not an option."
