The announcement was made at SAP TechEd 2008 Las Vegas, SAP’s largest ecosystem education event of the year being held Sept. 8-12.
Applimation Informia Archive provides a comprehensive set of enterprise data archiving solutions for efficient and cost-effective data storage, access and retrieval, legal and regulatory compliance and legacy application retirement. With this announcement, Applimation is extending its Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) technology, currently available for Oracle and other packaged and custom products, with the SAP solution-based environment and represents the first extension of the Informia Suite across application platforms since Applimation’s acquisition of Gamma Enterprise Technologies in January.
Key functionality of Applimation’s Informia Archive product includes:
- Implements the SAP ArchiveLink software to deliver industry standard XML archived data
- Applimation’s Informia Transformation Engine archives transaction data along with its associated master and configuration data, thus enabling end users of SAP solutions to achieve a true business view of the archived data
- Applimation’s Informia Presentation Engine enables access and view to the archived data independent of the current production version of the SAP application but with a look and feel of an SAP GUI interface that is familiar to end users
- In addition, the view of archived data through traditional access within the SAP solution-based production system is maintained
- Applimation’s e-Discovery Portal enables comprehensive compliance and risk management capabilities with rich metadata for search and retrieval, interfaces to industry leading vault and storage products, and legal hold
