Recently USA Today posted an article regarding a new robot that is being programmed to flip burgers. The report states how Caliburger was unable to keep long-term employees. CEO John Miller says that employees “Work on the grill, they realize that it’s not fun.. and so they leave to drive Ubers.”

The average Uber driver in Seattle makes between $19 and $21 per hour before expenses with expenses ranging from $2.94 and $6.46 per hour meaning an uber drive makes around $3-8.00 more hourly than a fast food employee.
The robot costs between $60,000 to 100,000 for the Flippy that also cleans the oven, Flippy is also capable of flipping as many as 2,000 burgers a day. CEO of Miso Robotics created Flippy with the Cali Group, the owner of the Pasadena-based Caliburger chain.
