Finalists Revealed for Flagship Franchising Awards

ABINGDON, UK / ACCESSWIRE / February 21, 2019 / The franchisor nominations for the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards have been announced.

Now in its 21tst year, the awards, run by the British Franchise Association, recognise the best in franchising over the past 12 months.

From nominations for franchising giants such as McDonald's to smaller companies just starting their journey and keeping family values at heart, the awards champion franchise systems that go above and beyond to put the franchisee, staff and customers at the centre of the business.

The finalists for each respective award are as follows:

Franchisor of the Year: Minster Cleaning Services, Window to the Womb, Oscar Pet Foods, Speedy Freight, InXpress, Driver Hire.

Emerging Franchisor: Award Leisure, Access4Lofts, Radfield Home Care.

Brand Awareness & Innovation: Oscar Pet Foods, The Christmas Decorators, énergie Fitness, o2.

Leadership & Culture: Home Instead, McDonald's, Right at Home.

Social Enterprise: Swimtime UK, Wiltshire Farm Foods, Creation Station.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa, believes the strength of the franchising industry is evident in these nominations:

"We had so many brands presenting excellent cases for being put forward for an award, so for those that have been shortlisted, they really have gone above and beyond in helping their network.

"The very fact that the companies nominated are so varied is not surprising, as franchising is a diverse industry in general, and it continues to push boundaries.

"In the 20 years I have been involved in the industry, so much has changed. There are more women than ever becoming franchisees, and 18% of all franchisees are now under 30, as reported in our 2018 Franchise Survey. This diversity, as well as many systems now being workable from home, has allowed the industry to flourish and the awards provide the perfect platform to showcase this."

This year, the categories have been split into five key areas - Emerging, Brand Awareness & Innovation, Leadership & Culture, Social Enterprise and the Franchisor of the Year as franchise systems stand out in key areas.
