PizzaSweepstakes.com Launches Pizza Gift Card Sweepstakes; Troll Wins, Hilarity Ensues…

By: Get News

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – 26 May, 2017 – It’s harder than you think to give away a $100 pizza gift card these days. Just ask Robert Valli, owner of the Fort Lauderdale startup, ‘Pizza Sweepstakes’ (https://www.pizzasweepstakes.com) which gives away pizzas gift cards to winners in their new online sweepstakes.

“I had just launched the website on Facebook, and the ‘Likes’ and the ‘Comments’ on my ads were starting to come in, and things were looking good”, explained Valli, an entrepreneurial digital marketer. “That is, until John Smith showed up, announcing that the whole thing was a scam.”

‘Internet Trolls’, such as John, are not uncommon, nor unexpected, but they are particularly unwelcome in paid ads, as they typically scare off contestants, unnecessarily. But instead of simply banning him and deleting his comments, Valli debated with him, publicly, and in the end was able to convince John to sign up.

And lucky for John he did, because he actually ended up winning the $100 gift certificate, in the automated draw that was held on May 12th.

But it didn’t end there…

After being notified he won, John had difficulty picking up his card at the pizzeria, and misinterpreting what happened, once again voiced his gripe in another of Valli’s paid ads, this time calling into question the legitimacy of the sweepstakes, ending May 27th.

Valli explained, “It was a PR disaster. It took 4 calls to the pizzeria’s manager to get it all sorted out, but in the end, Jim finally got his card, and afterwards apologized and thanked me, profusely. Apparently, he had just gone on disability, and said the extra money would really help, so I’m happy he won.”

Since then, Valli has announced another ‘beta test’ of the sweepstakes software, which again will offer a lucky winner a $100 gift card to the pizzeria of their choosing (or cash, if the pizzeria doesn’t offer store credit.)  This particular sweepstakes closes May 27th at 7pm EST and he hopes it will go smoother than the last one.

“I just want them to be happy,” confides Valli, “and maybe send us a selfie of themselves and their favorite pizza, that we can post on our Facebook Page.”

For those interested signing up, no purchase is necessary, but you do need to subscribe to their newsletter to enter. “Don’t worry, it doesn’t suck,” Valli says, “and you can unsubscribe at any time.”
