CES on the Hill Showcases Top Tech Innovation to Nation’s Capital

WHAT:

CES on the Hill, an invitation-only event produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, returns to the nation’s capital on Wednesday, April 30. This curated tech showcase provides policymakers the opportunity to interact with the technology companies and products that are transforming the way we live, work and play. These innovations are also at the center of some of the most critical, current technology policy debates.
CES on the Hill exhibitors showcasing their latest products and technologies include:

-- AT&T – An innovative text-to-speech app called StorEbook that reads children’s stories expressively in character-appropriate voices.

-- Best Buy Co., Inc. – Offers the most comprehensive appliance and electronics recycling programs in the United States.

-- BlackBerry – The QNX CAR Platform for Infotainment software is a unique set of pre-integrated and optimized technologies, further enhanced by dozens of ecosystem partners.

-- DashIT – DashIT keeps you and others safe while navigating on the road by mounting your smartphone (or other device) on the dashboard so you can see it while driving.

-- DISH and EchoStar – Showcasing the latest models of the DISH Hopper® and the Slingbox, with new technologies that give TV viewers more choice and control.

-- Motorola Mobility – Motorola will showcase its efforts in bridging the digital divide through two of its smartphones – the Moto X and Moto G.

-- ORIGOSafe – The ORIGOSafe is the Ultimate Distracted Driving Solution – the only technology that is an active safety device that prevents all handheld cell phone use while driving.

-- Panasonic – Panasonic will showcase its innovative safety display system and advanced weather forecasting service.

-- Pandora – There are more than 1,000 different ways for listeners to access their personalized stations on Pandora Internet radio, the biggest music streaming and discovery platform in the U.S.

-- Qualcomm – Qualcomm will showcase cutting edge mobile devices enabled by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, as well as demo wireless solutions for education.

-- Google – Glass™ is a new device and platform that has sparked conversations about innovation, privacy, safe driving, accessibility, and a host of other public policy topics.

-- HTC America – HTC’s all new One (M8) smartphone, launched in March 2014, improves on the achievements of the One (M7).

-- Lenovo – Lenovo’s ThinkPad® X1 Carbon, Tablet 2, and two-in-one Helix convertible deliver unmatched mobile PC performance while their ThinkCentre® M93p raises the bar on desktop energy efficiency.

-- LG Electronics USA – LG is proud to showcase the latest in Ultra HDTV technology as our industry brings the best of the 2014 International CES to the nation’s Capital.

-- Microsoft – Project Spark is an interactive video game that harnesses the power of Microsoft’s suite of products to deliver an unparalleled, unprecedented gaming experience on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 or PC.

-- Samsung Electronics America – Showcasing the new curved Ultra HDTV, which demonstrates Samsung’s advancements in creating the ultimate immersive experience for consumers.

-- Sharp Electronics Corp. – Sharp’s proprietary Q+ technology brings the excitement of high resolution to a broad market segment of consumers.

-- TiVo Inc. – Showcasing TiVo Roamio retail DVR that uses CableCARD technology to create a simple to use entertainment experience; and TiVo Mini and accompanying mobile application.

-- VIZIO – VIZIO will showcase its 42” Class Full Array LED SMART TV, and 38” 2.1 Home Theater Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer.

-- VOXX International Corp. – VOXX’s Symphonix Personal Sound Amplifier is a hearing device that offers high-definition digital sound processing to amplify speech and filter out background noise, while their myris is a USB-enabled iris identity authenticator that provides an unparalleled level of security when protecting against fraud and identity theft.

Returning for its second year, a dedicated showcase area for exhibitors from the Eureka Park TechZone at the 2014 International CES®, the world’s leading innovation event, will be located within the 2014 CES on the Hill show floor. Eureka Park features some of the world’s most innovative startup companies and their groundbreaking products and services.

Eureka Park exhibitors at CES on the Hill include:

-- ClearView Audio – The ClearView Clio employs their patented Edge Motion® technology using an optically clear acrylic glass stereo transducer.

In conjunction with CES on the Hill, the tenth annual Digital Patriots Dinner will take place on Tuesday, April 29 and will honor Senators Amy Klobuchar and Rob Portman, and VOXX International Corp. Chairman and Founder John Shalam for their roles in advancing innovation and supporting a legal and regulatory framework that allows innovation to flourish.
