Why Viacom is looking to India for a new TV audience

The U.S. media giant, owner of TV networks including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, is completing a deal with India’s Reliance Industries that will give it half ownership of five entertainment channels around the country that specialize in low-budget, local-language soaps.
