High as a Kite: Dow Jumps 298 Points, Hits New High as Trump Rally Resumes

Stocks rallied to record highs today because...that's what they've been doing pretty much since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States . The S&P 500 rose 1.3% to 2,241.35 today, a new record high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 297.84 points, or 1.6%, to 19,549.62. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.1% to 5,393.76, just 0.1% below its record high of 5,398.92 hit on November 25. Wells Fargo's Stuart Freeman and Scott Wren argue that "underlying fundamentals support [the] equity rally." They explain:
