ProVia Expands Entry Door and Storm Door Production Facilities

New facilities increase production capacity to support robust sales growth.

SUGARCREEK, OH, October 21, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To support the company's continued robust sales growth, ProVia, a leader in exterior building products, has completed major expansions of the company's entry door and storm door production facilities. The square footage of the entry door manufacturing campus near Walnut Creek, Ohio (also the company's corporate headquarters) has been expanded by 80%. A new automated storm door production line has been added at the company's Sugarcreek, Ohio facility, which has increased output by 100%. Both expansion projects incorporate the latest efficiency and quality control enhancements while streamlining processes for product customization.

Entry Door Facility Expansion
The new Walnut Creek facilities increases production capacity for ProVia entry doors and includes the following enhancements:

- Entry door manufacturing space is doubled
- New engineering lab with additional equipment for product testing
- Expanded shipping/distribution center with 16 loading docks
- Expanded overhead conveyor system to transport entry doors through production
- New conference facilities
- Square footage expanded by 80%

New Automated Storm Door Production Line
State-of-the-art equipment has been added for ProVia's storm door production. The new equipment maximizes quality control with a chip management system that removes debris from finished surfaces to avoid potential for scratching. New sawing capabilities enhance the consistency of mitered corners. Additional inline processing capabilities speed up production output while maintaining ProVia's high quality standards.

While many of the new storm door production line's processes are automated, some are intentionally not. "At the end of the production line we have two employees who wipe down each storm door and inspect it for quality," says Keith Yutzy, Vice President of Operations, ProVia. "When reaching for the higher quality standard, as we do at ProVia, there are some things you just can't do with automation. We still want the human touch to ensure our customers receive the highest quality products."
