San Diego, Ca: Today, July 6, 2015, Ferran Technology, Inc. (Ferran-Tech) announced its acquisition of Reno Sub-Systems’ Vacuum Products division, based in San Diego California.  Accordingly to Ferran-Tech’s CEO David Ferran, “This is a great opportunity for us to accelerate the launch of our new line of Wyde Gauge™ vacuum sensors.”

“Reno is actively refocusing our business on our highly innovative RF power, matching, and gas delivery systems technologies, to accelerate their commercialization,” said Bob MacKnight, CEO of Reno Sub-Systems. “As such, we made the decision to divest our vacuum products division, resulting in this sale. We are very proud of the vacuum technology, and look forward to seeing Ferran-Tech continue its development and bring these products to market.”

Ferran-Tech’s new line of Wyde Gauge™, Capacitance Diaphragm Gauges (CDGs) provides precise vacuum measurements for use in the fabrication of advanced micro-electronic devices. The largest applications include the global markets for the manufacture of Semiconductors, Flat Panel TVs, Hi-Brightness LEDs, MEMS devices and Solar Panels. CDGs are also used in a variety of scientific and industrial vacuum processes.

The Wyde Gauge™ CDG product line is a direct replacement for traditional CDGs and offers superior zero stability, wider dynamic range, lower operating pressures and built in Diaphragm Diagnostic™ features.

The   Wyde Gauge™ CDG is the result of decades of research and development in vacuum measurement technology and represents a game changing leap beyond currently available CDG technology.

Ferran-Tech’s R&D group is led by Robert Ferran, one of the pioneering engineers in vacuum measurement technology. “We have brought together, what I believe to be, the industry’s top vacuum talent and are excited to bring the Wyde Gauge™ CDG to the marketplace.” Said Robert Ferran, Chairman and CTO of the new company.

“It’s our goal to initially focus the Wyde Gauge™ CDG on the most difficult and demanding vacuum measurement challenges. Over time, we will broaden our range of products to include other high precision measurement and control instrumentation.” Said Kirk Rogers, Ferran-Tech’s U.S. Sales Manager.
