Delphian Sprints Ahead with New Indoor Running Track

Students Run on New Indoor Track

SHERIDAN, OR, February 12, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Located in Sheridan, Oregon, Delphian School's track and field athletes are often prohibited from running outside due to weather concerns. For this reason, the school built an indoor track for its students.

Trevor Ott, the head of the Delphian School was joined by the student council president and board member Shon Holyfield at the ribbon cutting. After speeches, and a photo showing what the gym used to look like in the 1980's, the ribbon was cut and the very first Delphian students enthusiastically sprinted around the track.

Athletic director, Brandon Lidgard said, "It just opens the door to doing a lot more in the PE classes in the winter." He went on to thank contributors for supporting both the PE program and the school.

Reactions to the new track were all positive. Students told us that they love sports, they love to run, and this new track will help them stay in shape and do what they love - no matter what the weather is like.
