Medical Distribution Network Launches Protocol, a New Weapon in the Fight Against Surgical Site Infection

Philadelphia, PA - May 25, 2017 - (Newswire.com)

Protocol™ Subcutaneous Dressing Device™ is a surgical dressing designed to eliminate Surgical Site Infection (SSI). Applied in less than a minute, it is simple and easy to use.

PROTOCOL™ is a sterile, single-use device with Silver Alginate and Antimicrobial strips.  The antimicrobial packing strips are inserted into the wound, while the silver dressing is placed on top of the wound.

A first-of-its-kind surgical dressing that removes Transudate and Exudate, which aid in the colonization of deadly pathogens following incisional surgery or deep lacerations, it is especially useful in general, colorectal, OB/GYN, urological and other open abdominal, laparotomies, and torso area surgeries.

The sterile, one-time use device is applied to a patient’s incision area following the closing of the wound with staples or sutures. Protocol™ is then removed two days later, reducing the need for open wounds, drains, wound vacuums, and extensive patient monitoring and wound maintenance, following high SSI risk surgeries.

Protocol’s antimicrobial strips provide immediate and sustained antimicrobial activity against a broad spectrum of wound pathogens including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli.

Protocol™ is latex free, FDA-approved, and is manufactured in the USA. It is designed by Life Sciences, LLC, and distributed through Medical Distribution Network (MDN). MDN specializes in new product launch, marketing, and distribution of FDA-cleared medical devices.
