Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) reported lower first quarter revenue and earnings of 63 cents per share compared with 73 cents per share in the year ago period but the results surpassed analyst expectations prompting upgrades. The stock price leaped $2.37 to $19.47.
