Stage Stores disappoints

Stage Stores Inc. (NYSE: SSI) disappointed with sharply lower second quarter earnings of 5 cents per diluted share compared with 35 cents per diluted share in the year ago period that fell far short of analyst expectations and lowered its full year earnings outlook. The stock price plunged $4.95 to close at $11.95.
