Carnegie Learning Named an Approved Vendor for Mathematics Curricula by Tennessee Board of Education

Carnegie Learning, Inc., a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL), announced today that the Tennessee Board of Education has approved Carnegie Learning in its recently released 2014 list of recommended mathematics programs. This recognition approves the use of the following Carnegie Learning curricula in Tennessee: Middle School Math Series Courses 1, 2, and 3 for grades 6-8; Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II; and Integrated Math I, II, and III.

Carnegie Learning is one of the select few programs that met all the non-negotiable and additional criteria in the first round of reviews with no concerns or requirements for revision. This approval by the Tennessee Board of Education will make Carnegie Learning’s curricula available to school districts across the state for the next six years.

“We are proud to be recognized by the state of Tennessee as a provider of quality mathematics learning tools,” said Erin Simmons, chief operating officer at Carnegie Learning. “This is a great opportunity for Tennessee’s students to continue to grow their understanding of mathematics principles in new and dynamic ways as they prepare for their future careers.”

Carnegie Learning offers a learning environment that extends beyond traditional textbook learning. Based on more than 20 years of research into how students process and learn mathematical principles, Carnegie Learning blends consumable, write-in textbooks that are updated annually with interactive digital, online tools and resources to create a personalized learning plan for each student.
