Happy Feet Plus Expands with a Kenkoh Kiosk in Tyrone Square Mall

St. Petersburg, FL, USA - November 22, 2015 /PressCable/

Happy Feet Plus, the locally owned and operated Tampa Bay shoe store chain known for ‘Footwear for Healthier Feet’, held a soft opening for its newest location, a kiosk in Tyrone Square Mall, in St. Petersburg on October 28th , 2015.

The event actually marks a return to the mall by Happy Feet Plus, who started at that very same location 30 years ago selling their signature brand the Original Kenkoh Massage Sandal from Japan. They had their original kiosk for 10 years from 1985-1995. “We have come full circle and are thrilled to be back where we started 30 years ago” said Jane Strong, co-founder of Happy Feet Plus. “My business partner, Jacob Wurtz and I sold our first pair of Kenkoh Massage Sandals in that very same spot. Our business grew from that small kiosk, to 10 vibrant specialty shoe stores on the west coast of Florida” said Strong. Happy Feet Plus now consists of the ten retail shops, a major internet site, and is the fast-growing sole distributor of the Original Kenkoh Massage Sandal in North America. The current return to the kiosk in Tyrone Square Mall is to further expand the awareness of the product they believe so strongly that everyone needs.

The chain was born in 1985 when Natural Health advocates, Jacob Wurtz and Jane Strong, discovered the Original Japanese Kenkoh Massage Sandal at a local health show. They experienced remarkable positive changes from wearing them, and knew they had to share them with the world. Happy Feet Plus became known in the Bay Area for fine footwear with special focus on health and comfort, and Kenkoh sandals are now well known and popular throughout the region. In all its stores, Happy Feet Plus is committed to helping others experience total foot health and its effects on the whole body and quality of life. Its wide selection of handcrafted euro-comfort shoes, sandals and clogs make these stores the perfect place to browse, look and learn about feet and footwear. Happy Feet prides itself on Fit Specialists who spend as much time as needed for optimum results. Brands include shoes featuring roomier toe boxes, better shock absorption and orthopedic support. Customers can also find affordable medical grade orthotics and arch supports for work, casual, dress and athletic shoes.

“The Kenkoh kiosk is the first of a chain of kiosks we plan to open in the Tampa Bay area” says Wurtz “and when the concept is proven here we will roll it out across the US. There is much more openness to natural health products thirty years later, not to mention the need for such a healing products.” he said.

The kiosk carries various styles of Kenkoh’s for men and women, Kenkoh inserts for shoes, as well as two other brands of medical grade orthotics carried by the Happy Feet Plus stores. The kiosk, a modern design in white and green, is located at the JC Penney end of the mall across form GNC. They can be reached at 727-343-3030
