Synchronoss Technologies (Nasdaq: SNCR) reported better than expected earnings for the third quarter.
On the downside
Kindred Healthcare (NYSE: KND) widened third quarter losses significantly and announced plans to exit the skilled nursing facility business.
BioScrip (Nasdaq: BIOS) reported a loss for the third quarter and cut its current quarter and full year forecast.
Depomed (Nasdaq: DEPO) widened third quarter losses more than expected and cut its full year forecast.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 9 to 7 on the NYSE and by nearly 5 to 4 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 gained 8 points to 2,139. Bitcoin added $4 to $704.
