Teledactyl prepares to take on the redundancy of the healthcare system using blockchain personal health records

Cheyenne, WY (June 23, 2018) – The United States healthcare system is in dire need of a more efficient method to preserve and protect personal health information, reduce healthcare costs, increase provider access and improve methods of payment for health care services. Out of $3.5 trillion in spending last year, an estimated $800 billion in wasted funds were attributed to costs other than direct healthcare. Teledactyl seeks to combat this issue head on.

Today, centralized health databases are a legal requirement in the United States. There are several Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for healthcare organizations that store medical data locally in a central database, increasing the security risk footprint and requiring providers to print or electronically send information between one another. This leads to the over-treatment, waste and inefficiency that Teledactyl co-founders Alan E. Bottorff, CEO & Chair of the Board of Directors, and Seth J. Crapp, M.D., President and Chief Medical Officer, see every day.

CEO Alan Bottorff said; “Teledactyl is the solution to these issues. Our goals are: 1) To give the patient more direct control over his or her health through secure ownership of personal health record, 2) To enable a form of direct payment to health care providers via the teledactyl token, which will aid in reducing costs by eliminating waste from intermediaries like third-party payers.”

“Teledactyl is being developed from blockchain technology to have the ability to store and share user information digitally through secure encrypted data in personal health records on our blockchain owned and controlled by you, the patient,“ states Dr. Seth Crapp. “The utilization of blockchain gives Teledactyl the capability to create and circulate our own proprietary cryptocurrency for payments for health care services, reducing the need for a third-party payor element,” adds Alan Bottorff.

The open-source Teledactyl decentralized application (dApp) is planned for release in the fourth quarter of 2018 after the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) slated on August 11, 2018.
