Encana-Athlon deal will benefit companies active in Permian Basin

The $5.9 billion Encana bid for Athlon Energy may lift up more than shares of Athlon, which rallied 25% on Monday — the deal is also good news for other companies focused on west Texas’ Permian Basin.
