By: PRLog
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Feb. 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC) announced today that Steven K. Andersen, Vice President of the American Arbitration Association and its International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA/ICDR), is the recipient of SVAMC's Outstanding Contribution to Technology Dispute Resolution Award. Andersen was selected by SVAMC based on his extraordinary commitment to advancing alternative dispute resolution in the technology sector.

SVAMC promotes efficient and effective technology dispute resolution, including the use of arbitration and mediation to resolve technology-related business disputes. Each year SVAMC releases the highly anticipated List of the World's Leading Technology Neutrals (the "Tech List"). Now in its fourth year of operation, SVAMC has become the leading U.S. and global resource for the use of arbitration and mediation in the technology industry. Andersen is the first recipient of SVAMC's Outstanding Contribution to Technology Dispute Resolution Award.

"It's a privilege for SVAMC to recognize Steve Andersen and his colleagues at AAA/ICDR with this Award. Through Steve's efforts, technology companies around the world are increasingly looking to arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for resolving technology-related disputes," said SVAMC founder and Chairman Gary Benton. "His commitment, accomplishments, professional values and calm, even-handed demeanor are widely appreciated and respected."

Andersen was AAA/ICDR's planning lead on SVAMC's highly acclaimed Smarter, Faster, Cheaper Technology Dispute Resolution – Open Forum with Silicon Valley, which was co-hosted in 2017 with AAA/ICDR, the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).  A similar Open Forum is being planned for New York in late 2018.

Andersen has over 20 years of experience as an ADR professional. At ICDR he is responsible for the complete range of international dispute resolution services offered by ICDR and interacts directly with lawyers in corporations and law firms throughout North America. He leads ICDR's efforts in various industry sectors including technology. Andersen regularly organizes and leads events, training programs and presentations on negotiation, mediation and arbitration in the US, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia. As part of his initiatives, he helps manage the size, expertise and diversity of the ICDR panel of arbitrators and mediators within North America.

ADR is an increasingly important resource for technology companies because it offers the ability to select the most qualified decision-maker, efficiency, cost savings, privacy and the enforceability of international arbitration awards.
