Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers Announces New Physician Assistant Special Interest Group (PA-SIG)

Hackensack, NJ - July 26, 2017 - (Newswire.com)

The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), the leading educational, training, and networking organization for MS healthcare professionals and researchers, announces the formation of the Physician Assistant Special Interest Group (PA-SIG).  This new group will provide PAs with a specialized forum to exchange ideas and information on MS patient care.

“A PA’s role in MS care is becoming increasingly important as they are often the frontline of communication with the physician, patient and other healthcare professionals.  CMSC’s PA-SIG will be an important resource for education and information sharing that will strengthen these practitioners knowledge of this complex disease,” said Amy Dix, MPAS, PA-C, MSCS, Kansas City Multiple Sclerosis Center.

The CMSC PA-SIG will also promote the PA’s role in MS care and provide guidance on career development, latest MS treatments, management strategies and research. Other benefits include:

  • Opportunities for professional collaboration
  • Access to relevant CME classes
  • Mentoring from CMSC members

In addition at the CMSC Annual Meeting, May 30 – June 2, 2018, at the Nashville Music City Center in Nashville, TN, the PA-SIG will have roundtable discussions and networking opportunities for PAs to meet face-to-face.
