IronOCR – The C# OCR Library for .NET

Iron Software, a Chicago based software development company, proudly announces the release of IronOCR, a C# application that allows developers to read text and barcodes from scanned images and PDFs.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, IL, April 21, 2020 – Optical Character Recognition images such as barcodes and  QR codes can present developers with a number of different challenges. IronOCR, a new OCR in c#application from Iron Software, of Chicago, has been developed to allow developers to read text and barcodes from scanned images and PDFs. IronOCR supports multiple international languages its output can be rendered as either plain text or structured data.

IronOCR has a unique ability to automatically detect, read and interpret text from images that may not have been scanned perfectly and from PDF documents. While it may not always be the fastest, IronOCR provides the simplest method for extracting text from documents and images, because it automatically sharpens and corrects low-resolution scans, removing skew, distortion, background noise, and perspective errors while also enhancing resolution & contrast.

Developers using IronOCR can pass it single or multiple pages scanned images, and then receive all of the text, barcodes, and any QR content in return. The OCR library includes a set of classes that add OCR functionality to web-based, desktop, or console .Net applications as well as tesseract ocr c#. And the input can be taken from many different formats, including JPG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, GIF, and BMP.

The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine in IronOCR has the ability to view inputs formatted with multiple popular fonts, italics, weights, and underlines and read the text accurately. Cropping classes further enable the OCR to perform quickly and with pinpoint accuracy. IronOCR’s multi-threaded engine speeds up OCR speeds when working with multi-page documents.

But what really sets IronOCR apart is its ability to read poorly scanned documents. IronOCR includes a unique pre-processing library that reduces distortion, background noise, rotation, and skewed alignment and also simplifies colors and enhances the contrast and resolution.

As with all Iron Software, IronOCR includes supports for full IntelliSense code completion, the Visual Studio Installer ensures that developers will always know what the next step is. IronOCR may be installed either directly, with Visual Studio, or it can be downloaded in the form of DLL files. Both options can be configured in no time. There are no dependencies and only one DLL.

And of course, Iron Software will always there, supporting developers who use IronOCR every step of the way.

The IronOCR site offers full instructions on how to download and install IronOCR, as well as a library of sample code and tutorials showing every step of the process.

Whether it’s a question about integration or a licensing query or a product inquiry, the Iron product development team will be on hand to respond to all of your questions. Just visit the site to learn how Iron Software can help integrate ocr net applications into your next project.
