GSLO: Massive iPod Touch Sales Figures Prompted Apple Peel Deal

GoSolarUSA (PinkSheets:GSLO) President Tyson Rohde said today that staggering sales figures for Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPod Touch pocket computer prompted the company’s option agreement with Chinese firm Yosion.

Yosion is the developer of the Apple Peel 520, a wireless device that when used with the iPod Touch functions as a protective skin that adds mobile voice and text messaging capabilities to the touch-screen media player. The startling new technology represents a more affordable alternative to purchasing Apple’s costlier iPhone.

“When we researched the number of iPod Touch units sold, our eyes really popped,” Rohde said. “There is truly a huge market for Touch accessories, both in the U.S. and around the globe. With the Apple Peel 520, we believe we will have the most exciting and functional iPod Touch accessory produced to date.”

During an online presentation earlier this month, Apple CEO Steve Jobs claimed that the company has sold 275 million iPods since the device’s release. The iPod Touch is Apple’s newest and most advanced model, reinventing the iconic media player into a pocket computer. On Wednesday, Jobs unveiled a new, slimmer version of the Touch featuring the same 24-bit Retina display as the company’s iPhone 4 and proclaimed it to be the “number one portable game player in the world.”

By working to develop and market the Apple Peel 520 in the U.S., GoSolarUSA aims to turn each of those portable game players into functional smartphones. The gadget slips over the iPod Touch’s case and includes a battery, dock connector and SIM card. Once the proper software is installed, the Apple Peel adds the ability to make voice calls and text messages to all versions of the Touch.

“The Apple Peel 520 is a very affordable piece of technology that greatly increases the functionality and value of the iPod Touch,” Rohde said. “We believe strongly that this is something all Touch users will want, and it will be priced for most budgets.”

GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The iPod Touch and iPhone are products of Apple Inc., which competes in the global smartphone market against the Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android and Research in Motion’s (NASDAQ:RIMM) BlackBerry line.
