Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Amazon Web Services LLC (Nasdaq:AMZN), today announced the availability of Adobe® Flash® Media Server 4 software on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), part of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Adobe Flash Media Server, an industry leading solution for streaming video and social media applications, on AWS is designed to be an easy, affordable and scalable way to deliver media experiences without the upfront investment of a full server license. “Adobe Flash Media Server on Amazon Web Services helps to reduce the costs associated with deploying advanced media experiences across multiple screens, including multi-user games, video chat and video streaming,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president and general manager, Creative and Interactive Business Unit, Adobe. “We’re pleased to leverage Amazon Web Services to provide a flexible and cost-effective way for customers to access the rich functionality offered in Adobe Flash Media Server. Adobe Flash Media Server on AWS enables customers to deploy and manage high-quality live and on-demand content quickly and easily across multiple platforms and mobile devices, with content protection and advanced playback experiences. With Adobe Flash Media Server on AWS, customers can take advantage of the full feature set of Adobe Flash Media Enterprise Server 4 – including multicast and live packaging with HTTP Dynamic Streaming for high quality playback experiences, RTMFP technology that reduces bandwidth usage, real-time interactive applications and peer-assisted communication – without the upfront investment in software licenses.
