New Kindle Exclusive: Celebrity Chef Tom Douglas Publishes “Chef Walks: Seattle” Exclusively in the Kindle Store

Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced that celebrity chef and author Tom Douglas has published an eating and walking tour of Seattle, “Chef Walks: Seattle” (co-written by Shelley Lance) exclusively in the Kindle Store (www.amazon.com/kindlestore). The guide is available for sale today for $3.99 and will be exclusive to the Kindle Store. This is the first in an intended series of guides from different cities.

“We’re huge fans of Tom Douglas here in Seattle, and we think locals and tourists alike will enjoy exploring Seattle through his eyes,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content. “A Kindle device or the Kindle app on your phone are lighter and more portable than most printed guidebooks, allowing for a little extra space in your bag for local specialties like coffee or wild salmon.”

“Chef Walks: Seattle” gives adventurers tips on local delicacies and shares Douglas’ favorite spots to eat, drink, shop and get coffee. The guide also includes city information, such as where to see great views, catch a ferry or check out the local music scene. For those with leftover energy, the “stretch walks” provide ways to work off a couple calories at the end of a food-packed day. Recipes from Douglas will allow readers to use some of the local ingredients in their own kitchens.

“Nobody knows better than a chef the ins and outs of a city’s culinary cupboard,” said Tom Douglas. “‘Chef Walks: Seattle’ on Kindle provides travelers—or Seattle locals—a portable guide to navigating Seattle like a pro.”

Douglas is an American chef, restaurateur and writer. He is well known for helping to define Northwest cuisine and igniting the Seattle restaurant scene, winning the James Beard Award for Best Northwest Chef in 1994. His restaurants include Dahlia Lounge; the Greek-inspired Lola; Serious Pie pizzerias; Palace Kitchen; Pike Place Market’s iconic seafood restaurant, Etta’s; and the newly opened Seatown. He also owns Dahlia Bakery, famous for its Triple Coconut Cream Pie. Douglas is the author of “Tom Douglas’ Seattle Kitchen,” named Best American Cookbook by the James Beard Foundation, “Tom’s Big Dinners,” and “I Love Crab Cakes!”
