News Corp. withdraws bid for BSkyB

News Corp. has withdrawn its $14 billion bid for the 61% of British Sky Broadcasting it doesn’t already own, indicating that a phone-hacking scandal has created too much ill will in the U.K. for the transaction to earn regulatory approval.
