Forget cheap High Street alternatives and buy an original mod fishtail parka for women
PRLog - Jun 12, 2013 - SHREWSBURY, U.K. -- The mod clothing and fishtail parka specialists www.itsamodthing.com finally has original mod fishtail parka’s available for women.
A spokesman for the company explained:
“We’ve sold original fishtail parka coats for years now and we were approached by small ladies on a regular basis asking if they could buy an authentic mod parka. Basically, original fishtail parka coats were only produced in big sizes and you need at least a 38 inch chest measurement to even wear an XS M65 parka. Unfortunately we just had to keep turning potential custom away and we therefore decided to tailor existing M65 parkas and also a nice M51 parka replica which we currently sell. There was a lot of trial and error by our seamstresses, but we now have the process nailed down. The length of each parka is reduced to 36 inches, sleeves to 23 inches, and the chest to 40 inches. Therefore, our women’s fishtail parkas are perfect for women with a chest measurement between 32 to 36 inches. On the M65 parka version we also reduce the sleeve width to accommodate the smaller frames.
The popularity of mod is at its peak at the moment, especially with the Who currently undertaking a UK Quadrophenia tour. The women’s fishtail parka’s have proved a massive success and helped to increase sales. We have received great feedback from our women customers who didn’t have to opt for a cheap nasty looking High Street alternative.
We are at present, in the process of producing our very own parka range which will be handmade in England. Obviously, these will be high quality and retail at around £200. The parka coats will be produced in set UK sizes for women such as Size 8, Size 10 etc. We could have gone down the cheap mass produced route by using China, or some other Asian country but to us the quality of the garment is important. We have built up a reputation for authentic quality products and we do not wish to destroy that reputation. We believe customers will pay extra for quality. Some of the cheap imitations sold on either Ebay, or the High Street are quite simply shocking and of terrible quality. Our own fishtail parka coats should be available on the website sometime during the AW13 season.”
