Emy Mack Shoes inspired the winning design on Project Runway Season 12, Episode 7: Shoes First. Designer, Helen Castillo, selected Emy Mack's Elizabeth Stud Cap Toe Booties as the muse for her winning look: a tailored black dress and cape.


Season 12 Project Runway designer Helen Castillo selects EMY MACK SHOES as the inspiration for her winning look on Episode 7: Shoes First that aired Thursday, August 29, 2013 on Lifetime. Tim Gunn mentored fashion designers in a challenge to create a design around one pair of shoes. Designer Helen chose EMY MACK’S Limited Edition Elizabeth Stud Cap Toe Bootie as her muse. The shoe’s side-zip, leather style inspired Helen’s creation: a tailored head-to-toe black dress and cape. In the workroom, Tim Gunn reviewed Helen’s progress and commented that the look was “very Kate Middleton.” On the runway, the low profile leather boot was a strong compliment to Helen’s fluid ensemble. The look won over Project Runway’s panel of judges-including Host and Executive Producer, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, and guest judge, Kaley Cuoco-to name Helen Castillo the Episode 7 challenge winner. The episode was also a win for emerging luxury shoe designer, EMY MACK.

Project Runway designer Bradon McDonald also selected a pair of EMY MACK SHOES: the Sienna Camel Silk Slipper embroidered with Swarovski crystals. Although Bradon’s design landed him in the bottom in this challenge, judge Nina Garcia gushed over the EMY MACK slippers: “I’m not a fan of flat shoes, but those flat shoes are fabulous!”
