PRLog - Nov. 5, 2013 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Prize-winning author, Barry Wiley, will be one of the featured authors at the 14th Annual Men of Mystery Conference for mystery writers and their fans. Wiley is the author of The Thought Reader Craze (McFarland Publishing) a work that won the 2013 Christopher Literary Award. The book is an incisive portrayal of the search, 1870-1909,  by scientists, academics and others to prove that telepathy was a fact of human nature; a search that could as well provide the first scientific proof of life after death. Wiley also reveals the tricks used by the subjects of the scientific testing to create the amazing illusion of thought reading.

Barry Wiley is also the author of The Indescribable Phenomenon, the biography of Anna Eva Fay, the woman whom magician Harry Houdini called “the greatest female mystifier.” Fay was also called “the quintessential con woman” by detective Allan Pinkerton.

The first novel of Wiley's fictional trilogy, Adventures in Second Sight, is Revelations of the Impossible Piddiingtons, on Amazon Kindle. The second novel, The Shadow of the Tiger, is finished and will be published early next year.

Barry Wiley resides in Marina del Rey, CA
