Veolia Recognized as Outstanding Supplier by Grainger

Veolia Environnement North America was presented with the Sustainable Supplier of the Year Award at Grainger’s annual supplier conference yesterday in Rosemont, Ill. Grainger (NYSE: GWW), the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) products serving businesses and institutions, presents awards annually to a select group of suppliers for outstanding performance throughout the year.

Competing against more than 3,200 suppliers, this is the second time Veolia has received this honor from Grainger. Veolia was the recipient of the first-ever Grainger Green Supplier of the Year in 2010.

The award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exemplary overall performance as a Grainger supplier, provide a strong environmentally preferable product offering, and exemplify environmental stewardship and responsibility within their own supply chain.

RecyclePak, Veolia’s pre-paid mail back recycling program, is at the heart of this award. The service allows businesses to recycle everyday items that contain hazardous substances in a proper and convenient manner.

Through Grainger’s awards program, suppliers are recognized for excellence in several categories, including responsiveness, information integrity, on time shipping and variability, management commitment and order fulfillment. Grainger suppliers receive ratings throughout the year for their performance in each of these categories. Out of Grainger’s more than 3,200 active suppliers, less than one percent are chosen to receive these annual awards.
