Goodwin House Uses Zix Email Encryption to Secure Protected Health Information

Goodwin House owns and operates retirement communities in Virginia and began using Zix Email Encryption in 2010 to securely communicate protected health information (PHI) for residents who are receiving healthcare or assisted living services.

All Goodwin House employees use ZixGateway®to protect its residents’ privacy in email and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). ZixGateway is a policy-based email encryption service that automatically scans and encrypts outbound email containing sensitive information. Its ease of use combined with proven scanning and detection capabilities were the top factors in Goodwin House’s decision to renew with ZixCorp.
