Violin Memory Appoints Said Ouissal Senior Vice President, Product Management and Strategy

Violin Memory®, Inc., (NYSE:VMEM), a leading provider of flash storage arrays and appliances delivering application solutions for the enterprise, announced today the appointment of Said Ouissal as senior vice president of product management and strategy. Mr. Ouissal will report to Kevin DeNuccio, Violin president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Ouissal has an established track record in both hardware and software product management for well-known, global networking companies, as well as experience helping companies set corporate strategy and direction while defining new, potential areas for business growth. In his new role, Said’s responsibilities will include overseeing all product management, as well as helping to manage future R&D investments to optimize Violin’s short term and long term goals to grow revenue and build competitive sustainable product advantages.

Most recently, Mr. Ouissal served as vice president, product management for Juniper Networks where he drove the product management efforts supporting Junos, Juniper’s operating system, as well as the portfolio management for all of Juniper’s routing and switching products. Prior to Juniper he held the position of vice president, strategy and customer engagement at Ericsson where he was responsible for portfolio strategy, field enablement and sales support for Ericsson’s IP and Broadband products.

Before joining Ericsson, Said held the position of director and vice president, systems engineering for Redback Networks, Inc. for seven years, where he lead a global team of technical pre-sales staff that helped the company triple its revenue.

Mr. Ouissal holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. He also invented two IP networking technologies and speaks five languages.
