Accomplished H+K Veteran Returns to Strengthen Canadian Offering

Top-ranked public relations and public affairs firm Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada (H+K) is pleased to welcome back Mona Gauvreau as vice-president in its Ottawa public sector communications team. Mona returns to Canada after leading the H+K Dubai office as its general manager for the last year. Prior to heading operations abroad, Mona was a vice-president at the firm’s Calgary office.

Mona’s experience spans crisis communications, media relations, issues management, message development, community relations and event planning. She is a veteran media trainer, with particular expertise in crisis and issues management. Mona is ICS-100-certified and has conducted leadership and strategic response training sessions for executives and spokespeople around the world.

With an impressive resumé of award-winning campaigns, Mona provides expert counsel and develops strategic solutions to increase her clients’ international profiles. Professional highlights include: onsite communication initiatives for the 2002 G8 Summit and the 1999 APEC Finance Ministers Meeting; crisis communications and preparedness training throughout North America, the Middle East and Europe for an international hotel group; and leading media relations and strategic crisis responses for the oil and gas sector.

Mona is an accredited member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and a past-president for CPRS Calgary Society. She is a former advisory board member at Mt. Royal University Continuing Education, where she also taught crisis communications.
