6th Annual Hearts and Hands Gala October 25 Featuring NEEDTOBREATHE

Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities’ (ARMHC) 6th annual Hearts and Hands Gala will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Intercontinental Hotel-Buckhead. The event, hosted by David Chandley, will feature live and silent auctions and a performance by rock band, NEEDTOBREATHE.

The Coca-Cola Company is the event’s presenting sponsor with Javier C. Goizueta, Event Chair, Vice President of The Coca-Cola Company and President of the McDonald’s Division Worldwide. Muhtar Kent, serving as Honorary Chair, is Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.

“The Coca-Cola Company has been a proud leading partner in the ARMHC Hearts and Hands Gala since its inception six years ago because we firmly believe in the importance of this Charity in Atlanta, as well the 300 Houses all around the world,” said Goizueta.

Atlanta’s two Ronald McDonald Houses will provide temporary housing and support service to nearly 2,000 families of ill and injured children this year. The two Atlanta Houses have provided a home away from home to more than 43,000 families of ill and injured children since the first Atlanta House opened in 1979.

“The two ARMHC Houses help thousands of families each year when their children are treated for critical injuries or illnesses at nearby Atlanta hospitals,” said Goizueta. “The funds raised through the ARMHC Hearts and Hands Gala are critical in ensuring that the increasing need for family care and support provided by the Houses is continually met.”

About NEEDTOBREATHE

NEEDTOBREATHE, an American alternative rock band from South Carolina, is composed of Bo Reinhart, Bear Reinhart, and Seth Bolt. Brothers Bo and Bear first began performing at local coffee shops around Furman University, where Bear was playing football. Soon after, they began recording with Seth, who had studied recording engineering at Full Sail University, in his Plantation Studios. The band was signed by Atlantic/Lava Records in 2005, and released their debut full-length album, Daylight, just one year later. Within the same year, the band was touring with Train, Collective Soul and Will Hoge, and finished up the year back in the studio working on their follow-up album, The Heat. Atlantic Records and Word Entertainment released The Heat in August of 2007.

NEEDTOBREATHE began to reap the rewards of their music in 2008 when they were nominated for two Dove Awards in 2007, and won the Dove Award for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year in 2009 for their song “Washed by the Water”. The band followed up The Heat with their third album, The Outsiders. Numerous songs from the album climbed to the tops of the charts, including the title song, “The Outsiders”, which reached Number 11 on the Triple A chart. The band received three Dove Awards in 2010: Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “Lay ‘Em Down”, Rock/Contemporary Album of the year for The Outsiders, and Group of the Year. The success of The Outsiders did not stop there, however.

The album produced another two wins at the Dove Awards in 2011: Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for "Something Beautiful", and Group of the Year. Following the success of The Outsiders, the band took a break from recording music to spend time on the road playing across the country, and opening for Taylor Swift on a series of her North American stadium shows. While they were touring, the band was still writing music, which they would record for their fourth album The Reckoning. This album would win the band three Dove Awards in 2012: Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for “Slumber”, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for The Reckoning, and, for the third year in a row, Group of the Year. The album produced another Dove Award in 2013 for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for “Keep Your Eyes Open”. This past April, the band released their fifth album, Rivers in the Wasteland, which is still climbing the charts.
