WEST ELM TO OPEN NEW RETAIL STORE IN OKLAHOMA CITY

Home furnishings retailer West Elm announced today that it will open a new retail store in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10am. Located at 6150 NW Grand Boulevard in the Triangle at Classen Curve shopping center, the 11,000 square foot store will open with the brand’s diverse mix of furniture, home décor, gifts and product collaborations. The store will feature a West Elm LOCAL assortment made by Oklahoma-based artisans that includes art, leather goods, vases and stationery. A special edition West Elm Oklahoma City tote bag designed by Wednesday Custom Design will be given away to the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase.

“We are excited to open our first store in Oklahoma and collaborate with the community by incorporating the designs of Oklahoma-based artisans in our assortment,” said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. “The local artists we are working with add a unique perspective of Oklahoma City style to our store and we look forward to watching the LOCAL assortment grow.”

Similar to other locations, the Oklahoma City store will be a creative, community-driven space with products and services designed to help customers discover their personal style at home. The store will open with West Elm’s Fall assortment which includes an expanded collection of lighting, new collaborations and handcrafted pieces from Haiti, India, Peru and the Philippines. Opening weekend, all pillows and throws will be 20% off, and all mirrors, shelving and wall art will be 15% off.

Additional store opening activities and events include a sweepstakes* that offers Oklahoma City residents a chance to win a $2,000 gift card and an invitation to a pre-opening celebration taking place on the evening of August 13th. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit The Central Oklahoma Humane Society a local non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the communities it serves by promoting the well-being of animals.
