Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Chooses Tyler Technologies’ ERP Solution

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, in western North Carolina, for Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) conducted a competitive request for proposal process for a solution that would automate procedures and transition the tribe away from manual, paper-driven processes. EBCI ultimately selected Munis for its ease of use, enhanced reporting functionality and integration across multiple core business functions.

“The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is excited to be taking the next step in the evolution of our financial management through our strategic partnership with Tyler Technologies and the implementation of Munis,” said EBCI’s Principal Chief Michell Hicks. “We look forward to the enhancements in reporting, analysis and automation that this platform will bring to our operations, allowing us to focus on service delivery and superior customer service by eliminating the time we currently spend maintaining manual processes. We are confident this new ERP system will help us improve our daily financial work and achieve our tribe’s long-term goals.”

EBCI invested in a wide range of Munis applications to modernize processes and provide enhanced customer service, including financial management, human capital management, employee self-service, utility billing and content management.

“Munis will streamline business processes across all financial operations for EBCI and allow the tribe to use real-time data to make informed business decisions,” said Chris Hepburn, senior vice president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “Tyler is committed to our clients, and our philosophy of continually reinvesting in our solutions as part of the annual maintenance fee creates significant long-term value for Tyler clients. We’re pleased to welcome the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to the Tyler family.”

EBCI is the only federally recognized tribe in North Carolina. EBCI’s Office of Budget & Finance provides financial support services to approximately 180 tribal programs. The Cherokee Boys Club, a non-profit and self-supporting tribal enterprise incorporated by EBCI, also recently selected Tyler’s Munis software suite.
