Little Bahalia Publishing LLC releases hardcover children's book "My Love for You Is the Sun" by Julie Hedlund and Susan Eaddy
PRLog - Sep. 9, 2014 - MILWAUKEE -- Little Bahalia Publishing LLC is proud to announce the release of the much-awaited bedtime story by Julie Hedlund, My Love for You Is the Sun. This is the second book by Julie Hedlund, who last year released A Troop is a Group of Monkeys, also from Little Bahalia.
Illustrator Susan Eaddy created handmade sculptures in plasticine and polymer clay for the book, using her unique method of hand-mixing, sculpting, and photographing the clay work. Says Eaddy, "Julie's tender story was just perfect for expressing my love of nature, and creating these animal pairs was a real joy for me. The collaboration between Julie, myself and Little Bahalia has been a dream project and it's been amazing and humbling to see the overwhelming response that the book is getting.”
My Love for You Is the Sun is a love letter from parent to child, written in verse and expressing that timeless and unconditional love through metaphors from the natural world. My Love for you is the Sun, a Tree, the Rain, a River... but of course, it’s also about more than familial or parental love, it’s about the universal, infinite nature of love itself, and as such, will hold crossover appeal for all ages.
Julie Hedlund explains her motivation for writing this story: “I got the idea late one night as I was snuggling my children in bed. Unlike most times when the muse strikes me past midnight, this time I sprang from the bed, went straight to my computer and wrote the first draft of the book… I grew up on a lake in the woods of Northern Michigan. Being outdoors in nature was a defining part of my childhood, so how better to express my love for my children than with metaphors from the natural world?”
Edited by best-selling children’s book author Emma Walton-Hamilton, this melodious tour of parent-and-child animals in their various habitats will mesmerize children at bedtime, and help them feel a connection with the loved one sharing it with them. “The book is a beauty – one I’m proud to say I served as editor for,” says Walton-Hamilton.
