Just back from entertaining the troops in the Middle East, comedy hypnotist Don Barnhart will turn the audience into the stars of the show Oct 4th-5th at The Laughlin Laugh Festival.
PRLog - Sep. 21, 2014 - LAS VEGAS -- Beginning Oct 3-5th, comedy hypnotist Don Barnhart will perform with some of the biggest names in comedy at the Laughlin Comedy Festival in Laughlin, NV.
THEY DON’T CALL IT LAUGHLIN FOR NOTHIN’! Barnhart, along with Larry The Cable Guy, Dana Carvey, Chris Kattan, Tim Meadows, MaryEllen Hooper, Felipe Esparza and Debbie Praver are just some of the big name acts appearing in the three day long festival. The festival will also offer a comedy contest with a $10,000 cash prize for the best new comedian.
Barnhart's show was recently named “Best Bet” by the Las Vegas Review/Journal and the multi-talented comedian, actor and hypnotist just wrapped up production on the new film, Tribute To Fluffy. In the movie, Barnhart plays a sarcastic, bitter and road weary comedian, which is nowhere near his true persona. Barnhart, not being one to stay idle was headlining Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at The MGM Grand Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV in between scenes in the movie.

Barnhart's show has been setting record attendance numbers at comedy clubs across the country and is a huge favorite on the cruise line, college and fair circuits. He was also selected to perform for the 2015 WPO (World Presidents’ Organization) and volunteers as the new media relations director for Helping Hands Relief, a US Non-profit charity providing assistance to those in need in the Philippines (http://www.helpinghandsrelief.org).
He is the author of the upcoming book, Comedy 101 and stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garrett, Louie Anderson and Wendy Liebman from America’s Got Talent. He is also in pre-production on the film, Freeloader that he wrote and will star in.
Freeloader is the story of a returning Vet who ends up homeless on the streets of Vegas and becomes the Robin Hood of the disenfranchised. “I have to get in shape for the film”, said Barnhart in a recent interview. He continued, “And I mean military shape. My wife is thrilled that I may actually have a six pack on my belly and not in the fridge.”
The movie is inspired by Barnhart's numerous tours for the troops and Don is independently producing shows for the military as well as working with Armed Forces Entertainment to bring as much comedy to the troops as possible. Following his shows in Laughlin, Barnhart will take out comedy legend George Wallace to visit the troops serving in Asia.
In his off time Barnhart teaches stand up and improv at his Vegas based studio and serves as one of the industry's top comedy consultants worldwide.

Comedy Contest – Twenty comedians will be chosen prior to the event through submission of 5-minute stand-up reels. Comedians will perform in two shows on Friday. The top five from each performance will advance to the finals on Sunday. Five comedians will move on the championship round and compete for the $10,000 cash prize and future Laughlin bookings. Hosted by Felipe Esparza.
Meet and Greet– Open to all registered festival participants. Chance to mingle with artists, agents, booking agents and venue operators.
Female Comedy Show – Featuring 5-10 female comedians who have performed on a national scale. Hosted by Maryellen Hooper.
