Stephanie McBride Offers Strategic Solutions for Resolving Common Parenting Dilemmas through Parent Coaching Classes

Parenting comes with its fill of rewards and challenges and Stephanie McBride helps parents overcome issues such as power struggles, listening, bedtime battles, and misbehavior.

When it comes to parenting, Stephanie McBride knows all about the challenges that families face. As a mother of three herself, she has firsthand experience with the daily ups and downs. In an effort to improve her relationships with her own children and help others to do the same, she became an independent facilitator of the Love and Logic® program. And now she is passing on these valuable strategies to other parents in the West Melbourne area.

McBride will be holding a series of five parenting classes beginning November 4, 2014, that cover a wide variety of common parenting struggles. She will guide parents through more effective strategies for dealing with these issues to create healthier, more respectful relationships and a positive, nurturing environment. Parents can try out a single class or register for all five to maximize their experience. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in McBride’s Melbourne-area home. The following classes are being offered this fall:

Tuesday, November 4 – Handling Misbehavior without Breaking a Sweat

Learn how to address misbehavior in public, put an end to exhausting whining and arguing, and conquer bedtime battles. You’ll also discover helpful tips for getting your kids to behave without raising your voice or having to repeat yourself.

Tuesday, November 11 – Teaching Kids to Listen… the First Time

Discover why repeated warnings are damaging to children and how to get them to listen the first time without resorting to lecturing, threatening, bribing, or spanking. Put an end to misbehavior in public while keeping your cool and learn how to get more enjoyment out of the time you spend with your children.

Tuesday, November 18 – Avoiding Power Struggles

Bedtime doesn’t have to be a nightly battle. Learn time-tested methods for ending these struggles and how to respond when your child wants to share your bed with you. Explore the benefits of sharing control in order to maintain control, and why nurturing and relationships are the foundation of responsibility.

Tuesday, December 2 – Limits Create Happier Parents, Happier Kids, and Happier Families

Although children often try to test the limits, learn why they also crave this structure. Find out how to set limits that facilitate cooperation as opposed to chaos, and how to establish a routine for getting ready in the morning without arguing and resistance.

Tuesday, December 9 – What to do When Your Kids Leave you Speechless

Put a plan in place for those moments when your kids act in ways that leave you wondering, “What do I do now?” Learn why briefly delaying consequences can be acceptable and what to do when misbehavior is really draining your energy. With a few effective strategies, you may even begin to look forward to your kids acting up.

Each class will be limited to five families (single parents or couples make one registration), and are for parents only. A light dinner and snacks will be provided. Parents can sign up for individual classes for $50 each, or register for all five for $200. Payments can be made via PayPal.

With the holidays coming up, now is a great time to feel more confident about parenting and maintaining a more controlled household. Make the most of the time spent together and create a more peaceful, enjoyable environment while teaching children responsibility, independence, and respect. Space is limited, so sign up today at www.parentingcoachflorida.com and let Stephanie McBride show you how to enhance your parenting skills and your child’s development.
