KB Home Wins 2014 WaterSense® Partner of the Year Award

KB Home (NYSE: KBH), one of the nation’s largest and most recognized homebuilders, has been honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a WaterSense® Partner of the Year for the fourth time in as many years. The 2014 designation reaffirms KB Home as the first and only homebuilder to earn the prestigious title. KB Home was honored at the WaterSmart Innovations Conference for its commitment to water efficiency and its efforts to educate consumers about WaterSense during 2013.

“We are incredibly honored to have been selected as the WaterSense Builder Partner of the year once again in 2014,” said Dan Bridleman, senior vice president of Sustainability, Technology and Strategic Sourcing for KB Home. “KB Home builds in some of the most water-scarce areas in the United States, and the drought conditions currently affecting states like California and Texas further underscore the importance of preserving water today to help promote greater water security tomorrow. We take great pride in earning recognition from EPA WaterSense for our water-efficient homes that help KB homeowners across the country live more sustainably and save money in the process.”

By producing and promoting WaterSense labeled products, new homes, and programs, WaterSense partners helped Americans save 271 billion gallons of water in 2013 alone—enough water to supply all U.S. homes for 26 days! More than 1,500 utility, manufacturer, retail, builder, and organizational partners helped WaterSense realize these accomplishments. Every year, a select few are recognized for their significant program contributions.

“EPA is pleased to honor this impressive group of WaterSense program leaders”, said Ken Kopocis, Deputy Assistant Administrator in EPA’s Office of Water. “Their efforts to build strong, resilient water systems are helping communities nationwide meet challenges of extreme weather events, drought, and other effects of our changing climate.”
