U.S. Global Investors Earns 10 Investor Education Awards from the MFEA

U.S. Global Investors, Inc. (Nasdaq: GROW), a boutique registered investment advisory firm specializing in natural resources and emerging markets, was recently awarded 10 STAR Awards by the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA), a national industry association committed to investor education.

The firm’s awards included that of best overall communications to a retail and advisor audience, which are given to the company that exhibits excellence in several different areas of communication such as annual reports, shareholder magazines and company websites. This year’s success brings the firm’s total to 64 educational awards won.

“It’s a pleasure to announce our marketing team’s achievements again this year,” says Frank Holmes, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of U.S. Global. “The focused work ethic this team displays, along with their curiosity to learn and improve, is reflected in the incredible content they produce that helps educate and inspire our shareholders.”

This is the sixth year that U.S. Global Investors received the award for best electronic newsletter for the Advisor Alert. This free, weekly analysis of the global markets is written by the firm’s portfolio managers and includes a special commentary from CEO Frank Holmes. U.S. Global Investors believes that advisor pieces accomplish two important goals: First, they allow the firm to stay in front of advisors with insightful opinions about resources and the overall market and second, they provide advisors with educational tools they can pass on to their clients.

The Shareholder Report was awarded for best printed shareholder magazine again this year, marking eight straight years of recognition. The report is an educational newsletter that is mailed each quarter to the firm’s shareholders. The digital version of the report is also available to download on the U.S. Global Investors website (www.usfunds.com). The Shareholder Report brings together powerful images, intriguing commentaries, thought-provoking interviews and even guest articles into a single publication to help engage readers about the world they live and invest in.

In addition to the Advisor Alert and the Shareholder Report, the firm received awards in various other categories, ranging from introduction materials to interactive quizzes.

In its 18th year, the MFEA STAR Awards program is the only competition in which mutual fund companies compete for honors in communications. The awards are judged by peers within the industry and only those who meet the highest standards of quality are given an award.

“The STAR awards represent a team effort between our marketing, investments, compliance and sales teams to educate and inform investors so that they can make better investment decisions,” says Susan Filyk, Director of Marketing for U.S. Global. “It’s truly an honor to see all of our hard work recognized, especially by our industry peers.”

U.S. Global Investors competed in the small funds category among firms with $5 billion or less in assets under management.
