ACE Names Joe Vasquez Division President of ESIS: Appointment Furthers ACE’s Investment in Third Party Claims Administration and Risk Management Services

ACE Group today announced the appointment of Joe Vasquez as Division President of ESIS, Inc., the company’s third party administration (TPA) business. His appointment is effective January 1, 2015.

Mr. Vasquez joined ACE in 2000, where he currently serves as Division President of the company’s Accident & Health (A&H) insurance business in North America. In this role, Mr. Vasquez built the business into a recognized leader in the space.

Mr. Vasquez will succeed David Patterson, who has served as Division President of ESIS since 2006, and for the last decade has shaped the business into one of the largest, most reputable TPAs in North America. Mr. Patterson will continue to serve as Division Chairman of ESIS, providing strategic guidance and ensuring continuity of leadership. Mr Vasquez will report to Mr. Patterson and Chris Maleno, Division President of ACE USA.

Mr. Maleno stated: “ESIS is one of the most highly regarded TPAs in the market, and we see even further potential for it to build out opportunities with data analytics, predictive modeling, and geographic expansion. Joe is a proven leader who has vision and drive to take ESIS in this exciting direction — through product innovation, talent development, and service enhancements that our clients and broker partners will value.”

ESIS employs approximately 1,400 professionals in nine regional centers and 15 claims offices, as well as local representatives in select jurisdictions, managing more than 320,000 customer claims annually valued at more than $2.5 billion.

ACE has also named James Walloga as Executive Vice President, A&H, North America, reporting to Mr. Maleno and Ed Clancy, Executive Vice President, Global Accident & Health and Life, ACE Group, effective January 1, 2015. Mr. Walloga joined ACE in 2005 and currently serves as Senior Vice President, where he is responsible for A&H’s national field underwriting operations.

In his new role, Mr. Walloga will continue to develop and expand A&H’s product portfolio, especially in the area of supplemental health and the division’s industry-leading multinational travel accident and sickness products.

Mr. Maleno added: “James has demonstrated proven leadership in managing product and distribution, as well as talent for client service and business development in his current role. I’m confident James will continue A&H’s momentum and build on its past successes, which James has been closely associated with.”
