ChannelAdvisor Promotes Mike Shapaker to Vice President of Brands and Manufacturers

ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE:ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to increase global sales, today announced the promotion of Mike Shapaker to vice president of brands and manufacturers. In this role, Shapaker is responsible for leading the ChannelAdvisor for Brands initiative to help branded manufacturers expand their online presence and e-commerce activities.

“Brands are exploring new ways to engage with consumers and maximize online revenue, but taking the next step is unfamiliar territory,” said David Spitz, ChannelAdvisor president and chief operating officer. “Mike’s leadership and strategic vision for brands can help them turn ideas into revenue opportunities as they take a new approach to e-commerce that focuses on meeting customer needs.”

ChannelAdvisor for Brands is the first holistic e-commerce initiative that enables brands to boost product sales and complement activities on other e-commerce channels. When qualified buyers visit a brand’s website, the brand can use ChannelAdvisor Where to Buy to drive buyers to certified retail partners to complete the purchase. Further, with the ChannelAdvisor for Brands initiative, brands can expand their direct-to-consumer strategies with ChannelAdvisor Marketplaces using sites like Amazon and eBay, as well as promote their products on various online advertising channels with ChannelAdvisor Digital Marketing.

“We’re seeing more brands considering going direct to consumers, and they’re looking for ways to enhance their online strategies,” said Shapaker. “We’re providing them with the guidance and resources to help increase product exposure, either on their website or through a preferred reseller.”

Shapaker previously led ChannelAdvisor’s Professional Services and Business Operations teams. Prior to joining ChannelAdvisor, he held leadership roles in product management and marketing at Nortel Networks and TheraSim. He received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
