Reliant Illuminates the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the Holidays

The AT&T Performing Arts Center and Klyde Warren Park today announced a new holiday collaboration, combining the Center’s annual Reliant Lights Your Holidays event with the Park’s annual family holiday event. The daylong festivities, featuring music, children’s activities, fireworks and more, are free to the public and will take place on Saturday, December 6.

  • The Reliant Lights Your Holidays event on the AT&T Performing Arts Center campus, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., will feature:
    • Live performances by Country Music star Jack Ingram and roots rock legends Los Lobos. Each will perform a selection of their own hits and holiday classics.
    • A snow-filled play area and free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
    • A fireworks display in Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park that will illuminate a dazzling, specially designed array of LED lights placed on the Center’s iconic venues and trees.
  • Celebrate the Holidays at Klyde Warren Park activities, which will take place from 1 – 6 p.m., will feature:
    • Free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus
    • Live reindeer
    • Holiday kids’ crafts
    • Face painting
    • Balloon artist
    • Food trucks
    • Activities and demonstrations from our Dallas arts and cultural friends and neighbors
    • Holiday music entertainment, including a marionette show, a brass quartet, and performances from Open Classical and Day One Band
    • A tree lighting of the largest outdoor Christmas tree in Dallas.
  • Following the park’s tree-lighting at 5:45 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the crowd to the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Attendees are encouraged to make the five-minute walk from the Park to the AT&T Performing Arts Center where the Reliant Lights Your Holidays festivities will be under way.

Celebrate the Holidays at Klyde Warren Park will begin at 1 p.m. and will culminate at 6 p.m. with the lighting of the park’s tree, which is the largest outdoor Christmas tree in Dallas. Activities going on throughout the day will include photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday music entertainment, arts and crafts, face painting, live reindeer and more.

Reliant Lights Your Holidays festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. in Sammons Park with holiday music, the snow play area and food trucks. Free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m., as will photographs in a specially designed Reliant holiday photo scene. Southwest Porch will offer drinks, snacks and a place to relax. Pearl Cup Coffee will also be open in the Information Center.

Elizabeth Killinger, president of NRG Retail and Reliant, will help flip the switch and illuminate more than 550,000 holiday lights across the Center’s campus. The lights, which will remain on throughout the holiday season, will outline the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, and trees in Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park.

Reliant continues its partnership with the Center with its sponsorship of this event for this holiday showcase. Reliant is the Official Energy Provider of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and Reliant is excited to host this event to inspire the holiday spirit in the Dallas community.

Immediately following the lighting ceremony, several performances will take place in the Arts District. Texas Ballet Theater will perform The Nutcracker in the Winspear Opera House at 8:00 p.m.; Dallas Theater Center will present its A Christmas Carol in the Wyly Theatre at 8:00 p.m.; and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will perform its Christmas Pops at the Meyerson Symphony Center at 7:30 p.m.
