Former NFL Player Expands on Entrepreneurial Success with Wild Bleu Martini Bar at DFW Airport

This opening comes after a wide array of airport ventures by the two partners, all of which have been successful. The martini bar will be the first of its kind at the airport, and it is expected to be a big hit among travelers.
Mickens got into the airport venue business in (year) when he invested $15,000 into a kiosk at the Philadelphia Airport. He now owns more than a dozen establishments at a number of airports, including Starbucks, Qdoba Mexican Grill and Famous Famiglia.
Knowing about his previous experience in airport venues, DFW airport approached Mickens about the need for a high-end concept in the revamped Terminal A, so Mickens came up with the idea for a martini bar. The bar will feature a $16,000 leather tile wall imported from Italy. Chiara Ricci will work as an in-house mixologist to create designer drinks with high-end liquors. According to Mickens, “The food is fresh and healthy… hummus, made from scratch pita bread, garlic fries, and a signature Wild Bleu Burger.” Wild Bleu will also serve exotic dishes including eggplant soup, charcoal grilled shish kabobs, and babaganoush.
Zenola Campbell, Vice President for concessions at the airport, commented that the airport is on a mission to offer a new category of high-end drinks for passengers. Adding Wild Bleu was a step in that direction, giving flyers a chance to sit down and enjoy a great cocktail or meal.
Mickens and Odeh are excited for the opening, after all of the work that has gone into creating the venue. Wild Bleu is projected to be a big hit among travelers for its unique concept and high-end appeal.
