The U.S. business group of Sun Life Financial has expanded its partnership with PlanSource to offer its comprehensive suite of employee benefits on PlanSource private healthcare exchanges. Sun Life’s voluntary short-term disability, long-term disability, life and accidental death & dismemberment, accident, critical illness and cancer insurance have been available on the PlanSource benefits administration platform and are now available to PlanSource OneMarket private exchange customers. Sun Life’s employee benefits are currently available through five private exchange partners.
PlanSource OneMarket is a comprehensive exchange solution available to brokers, carriers and large enterprises either as a proprietary insurance marketplace with multiple carrier and benefits options and optimal flexibility, or as a national exchange platform with fixed carriers and benefits. Launched in October 2014, the PlanSource OneMarket online marketplace helps employers give employees a greater selection of benefits plans, simplifies the enrollment process and helps control healthcare spending by delivering a self-service platform and advanced decision support to educate employees on their options.
“Sun Life is pleased to extend our reach to employee benefits customers by making our products available on the PlanSource online marketplace,” said Karen White, Assistant Vice President, Product Initiatives, for Sun Life. “Our growing presence on private exchanges reflects Sun Life’s commitment to making it easier for our customers to access quality employee benefits and make smart benefits choices. PlanSource is a great partner for us, as their complete, integrated exchange solution was designed to provide an exceptional customer experience.”
“For us, it’s all about offering more choice to our broker partners, to employers, and to employee end-users,” said Robin Babu, Director of Exchanges at PlanSource. “Adding a company like Sun Life to PlanSource OneMarket helps provide a more comprehensive marketplace for consumers to shop for benefits and delivers on the overall promise of private exchanges.”
